Space
Did you know that roughly 60% of the human body is water?
Obviously this depends on many things mainly pertaining to lean tissue versus fatty tissue since fat contains less water. So things like fitness, weight, age and gender can all effect the percentage of water making up your body. But roughly speaking we are all around 60% water.

{Happy} New Year
It's the first morning of 2016.
2015 has been a bit of a weird one for me. I won't say it was a disaster. Not completely catastrophic.
Because I like to keep things in perspective.

Balancing Act
So there is definitely a link between my computer and social media use and my swirly out-of balance-ness.

Backwards {10 Inspiring Organisations Doing Great Things}
Sometimes I think we are living backwards. Chasing after all the wrong things.
Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by everything I hear on the news.
Mostly I feel helpless to do anything about anything. And that's a really crap feeling.

Seeking Balance

I have been feeling so out of balance lately. Swirly. Not in a good boysenberry ripple choc top at the movies kind of way. More in a can't find clear space in my mind or in my life kind or way.

My Happiness
In the aftermath of Nick Kyrgios winning his fourth round match at Wimbledon all eyes were on the teenager. He carries the sporting hopes of the nation now, and I love the fact that he's as much the medias darling for appearing "normal" as actually winning. But while all the hype and hyberbole was being heaped on him something else was happening. A champion had lost, in an upset, to a newcomer.

Worry Worry Smile
There are a lot of worried looking people around. Don't you think? So many frowns and furrowed brows I see as I go about my day. I'm not judging. There's a pretty healthy crinkle in my forehead too. But sometimes I just wonder, what are we so worried about?

Little Things
Every now and then I notice that the little things in life become bigger than they need to.
The last week and a half has been one of these weeks. I don't know why this is. Why all of a sudden do I feel overwhelmed and on edge? Nothing major has changed and yet small things become a tipping point. Frustration is at the ready.

Nine and a Half Hours

Nine and a half hours. That's how much freedom I got. Freedom from the voice inside my head telling me I couldn't, I shouldn't, I won't.

Perfection

Many, many years ago a very good friend of mine asked me if I thought I was a perfectionist.
I think she was doing some therapy sessions of her own at the time and the topic had come up. I know she was reading The Road Less Travelled by M. Scott Peck. I remember because she gave me a copy.

Mindgames
Today I went running.
It's been awhile. We've had a few things going on at home. Which made it really easy for me not to prioritise something that is really important and good for me and instead stay home and drink wine.

Grace

I remember going to this corporate event once.
Some girl talked herself in - she wasn't supposed to be there enjoying the open bar and catered food. But there she stood, having sweet talked the host into letting her in.

Embracing Regret

I have two tattoos.
Even writing that sentence fills me with a sort of cringey embarrassment.

My Luxurious Complaints
So my daughter is earning pocket money now. She's five, starting school next year so I thought it was time. Time for her to learn about money, it's worth and the effort it takes to earn it. Also the pleasure in working hard and saving for something you want and buying it with your own money.

Practicing Gratitude
Sometimes gratitude does not come easily. There's a lot to be grateful for and yet sometimes the complaints come way more readliy.
Sometimes it's an effort to shake off the negative perspective and seek out the positive.
And sometimes that effort seems mammoth.

Memory Bank

So I've just had a lovely dinner with some beautiful girlfriends. Great and genuine women all. Good food, good wine and good conversation - what's not to like, right?

Blue Skies
Life is suffering.
And sometimes it feels like there's a lot to complain about.
And it's wonderful how much support there is out there now if you're going through a rough patch.
With parenting especially. There's no shortage of places to vent.
